Dear Club Members, Alumni, Family, and Friends,
Over the last several years, the Harmar Rowing Club has made significant improvements in our club through the hard work and donations from our club and community members. Some examples in recent years include:
Ø 2017 – Paying off prior boat loan and credit card balance
Ø 2018 – Replacing 160ft of Muskingum River docks with 240ft of improved docks and getting two new team tents with our Marietta Tiger Navy Crew logo.
Ø 2019 – Buying and paying off new Quad “Integrity”
Our next project we are working for is replacing 2 girl’s boats, the Hanf (1999) and the Machir (2004). For those of you who attended the Mercyhurst Erie race this spring, you saw the Girls JV final team take on water in the Hanf. The Machir has reached the end of its life with hull shrinkage, broken ribs, and deteriorated shoes with parts no longer available for repairs.
To achieve that goal, we are raising funds toward the quoted $67,750 for new Resolute replacements. Currently, Resolute is in the process of changing their boat design to a different rigger set up. We have an opportunity to purchase 2019 designs that match our current Euro-rigger fleet for versatility and less expense when compared to 2020 rates.
Although we have fundraisers planned in the upcoming months, our window for this opportunity is closing quickly. With funds from 2019 Dillon Lake volunteering, your contributions can help us take the next big step in upgrading our fleet and putting our most competitive team forward. Contributions to the Harmar Rowing Club, designated for the boat fund, are eligible as 503c charitable contributions and can be made through the mail to P.O. Box 5019 Marietta OH 45750 or online at mariettatigernavy.com where our Paypal account is available.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the boathouse or an upcoming regatta.
